Seems snow – or lack thereof – is the key.

An innocuous looking pair of wet boots and shovel yet the astute detective will tell us of the evil secret they hold !

The puddle in the coat rack means someone arrived in the house before Jarvis cleared the front walk.

Things are turning out to be not that good for Notgo. He is becoming too defensive….

A competent butler would not leave snowy boots and shovel in a common area visible to visitors. I suspect they were placed there TO BE spotted by the police!

I’d like to know the cause of death and I hope it is coming tomorrow.

Now is this normal? Would the butler put them there? If so I would suggest he hasn’t had time to remove them and clean up.

Looking at the coat rack again, there seems to be a fur coat hanging there. If the wife left her’s in the car and Midge Gregory is so poor she doesn’t have one, who’s is it? Also, is the black around the rack a cape or a shadow?

Okay – the one with the fur coat – who got there before Piston Puss and before the snow was shoveled (thus the puddle at the coat rack) by Jarvis – is not-Gomez’s, if all stories are to be believed. (Ms. Clampett claimed its in her car, and Midge stated she couldn’t afford a coat.)

The umbrella may be a red herring, since there is no puddle under it.

I’m just curious as to why the writer didn’t give us some really important information earlier — like cause & possible time of death, giving us a sense of why it seems so important to track things like who arrived when & what those puddles mean.

It’s pretty difficult for us to solve a crime when we don’t even know if there has been a crime. Until we know the cause of H.K. Krispies’ death, it remains possible he simply keeled over from a heart attack—hmmm; after he shovelled the walk? But, if it were a heart attack, why would Jarvis lie about the shovelling? Maybe he has something going on with Ms. Clampett-Krispies?
