@Kittehz4life asked me to comment this for her, since for some reason Gocomics won’t let her comment: Before any argument about polls start today, I have something that I’d like to say, and the only thing I ask is that you be open minded about it. I want to ask you if you really think all of this argument is really worth it. Would this comment section really be any worse off if nobody had commented negatively towards Marty’s first poll? Does asking for other people’s input really equate to asking for attention? Is it fair to assume the worst of someone like that?I don’t believe so. I’ll say that I see where both sides are coming from, and I’m not taking one side myself. I understand where people like Link_O_Neal, and Nate Clone are coming from. But I also understand the point that Narwhal and Pazy are trying to make. Is it so wrong to give Marty a chance and let him post what he wants? Is it so hard to scroll past a comment you don’t like? There’s no need to get angry at polls unless they are meant to annoy you. I don’t think that’s what Marty is doing. Even if he just wants the featured comment, is that worth getting angry over? The best thing you can do in that case is ignore it completely. Don’t reply, don’t tell others to flag it, don’t rant in a separate comment, just scroll past it. In the end, telling people not to say what they want isn’t going to solve anything, it’s going to create problems. If someone is obviously posting polls to troll, then quietly flag them and move on. Before I finish this overly long comment, I have a quote for you to consider, “Peace comes from being able to contribute the best that we have, and all that we are, toward creating a world that supports everyone. But it is also securing the space for others to contribute the best that they have and all that they are.” -Hafsat Abiola. This is a good lesson. I hope we learn it someday.

Big Nate fans, I’m here to see good, strip related comments such as the ones from LINK_O_NEAL, JonathanWG, Hev1, and formerly, Gollum. I DON’T come here to see full out wars in the comments section. I’m not necessarily blaming people who create polls, I’m just frustrated nobody can get along. Until things cool down, I’m taking a break from the comments (I’ll still be reading the strip, though). Thanks to the people I mentioned earlier and a few others for staying as good commenters. I’ll be back when this war is over.

I don’t know anything about these poll wars but if today is any example of them I find them tiresome. Also, probably 80% of space that could have gone to the strip rather than each other is really annoying. A lot of apparent egos out there.
