Nope, nothing in my paws, and i’m not taking them, I took them, so technically, Lupin is not lying to Puck. great expressive eyes for both Lupin and Pucky
Given the number of ornaments under the couch, I’m surprised there are any left on the tree. Or that there aren’t broken fragments all over the floor from ones knocked off.
While Sunday strips generally have no continuity with the weekly storylines, due to some papers not running Sunday comics, it’s nice that Georgia keeps a bit of continuity by not currently having Elvis be part of the BCN crew.
Sweet wishes of Sunday joys & happiness dear Georgia, your dear inner orb, BCN Mega Orb, and all my wonderful orbster buds!
Hot chicky noodle soup, ginger-lemon herbal tea, a touch of cayenne (clears the sinuses), and a fuzzy companion. What better way to start a Mega Orb day! Hope you’re cuddly warm!!! >^.,.^<
I am certain that this is a complete work of fiction only loosely based on reality. The real life Lupin would never engage in these sort of thieving and hoarding behaviors, I’m sure. Georgia is only using his name and likeness in a fictional way, of course. (Right?)
Well you know, the ornaments could just be falling off the tree and rolling under the couch by themselves. Nothing to do with a certain wide eyed innocent young cat who happens to be reporting nearby ;)
Putting ornaments back up on the tree is a pretty much daily routine in my house. Just this morning I caught Dean running off down the hallway with one of the mini stuffed toy ornaments in his mouth
@Shaunnmunn: Thank you so much for describing the U.P. for me yesterday! It sounds gorgeous! I’d love to plan a holiday there some time. Hiking, canoeing, waterfalls, Cornish pasties—definitely for me! :)
Good morning, BCN Mega-Orbsters. I’ve said it before and am saying again, I’m so lucky with Yum Yum. She’s not the most affectionate cat in the world, but she does leave my plants and Christmas ornaments alone.
Greetings to all Orbsters. Love that word. I am not able to comment as often as I would like. I have had to cut down on some of my comic favorites because of lack of time, but I would never give up on BCN. It is a shame when the demands of living cut into time spent reading comics. Especially one like this that started great and just gets better all the time.
I think I’ve probably mentioned this before, but, my “twins” used to love my wooden soldier ornaments. Never managed to catch them in the act, but I would come home to a miniature battlefield. There would be legs in the hallway, a torso in the living room, and a head in my bedroom! Momma’s response was always, “Oh! The carnage!” ( I admit it, I’m feeling a bit nostalgic today. Momma would have turned 85 today. It’s been six years since cancer took her from us, but it still seems odd not to hear her laughing and fussing at the cats as we put up the tree.)
The People may need to adopt the “professional” method of wiring the ornaments in place. Of course it means you can’t take them off, or disassemble the tree: you just wrap the tree in sheets and store it in the basement / garage/ laundry room / storage unit until next year. Won’t stop Pucky from climbing the tree, though!
Many years ago, my mom had a cat that would eat tinsel off the tree. You guessed right! She ALSO found tinsel in the LITTER BOX! What a nice Christmas surprise. :P
Here’s my theory – the ornaments are falling off the tree spontaneously. Lupin, being concerned kitty, is rolling them under the couch to prevent his humans from accidentally stepping on them and hurting their feet. He’s very thoughtful and a forward visionary, you know.
No glass ornaments left in the family. They went the way of Christmas cats past. Even the ball ornaments that were wrapped in tiny string saw their demise. Trees toppled and fancies shattered, so no the Christmas cats past did their damage. The current batch knows of no such decorations or trees to inflict damage and carnage. We just add more catnip and toys (it’s cheaper that way) and play til they all fall asleep. Then we do it again without broken ornaments and and fallen trees.
On another note: The lost kitten I found has made it clear that his name is Sunny. He is just a little furry puddle of sunshine. I made a post about him on Facebook, and had one person tell me in their reply that, “this is how you get a cat.”
Still no response to my posts advertising that I found him. I am starting to think I need to accept that I now have 4 cats. Sooti has accepted him (the two of them play together quite often) and Pingpong has started to tolerate him, but Tika still hisses at him whenever she sees him. Of course, Tika never did accept Sparky. I think she just doesn’t like males as she has fully accepted Sooti and often curls up with her to nap.
This may actually be for the best. I am pretty sure that Pingpong is in her bonus years as I have had her for 9 years now and she was an adult when I took her in off the street (every year after a cat turns 10 is a bonus year). Tika is not yet in her bonus years, but she is getting close. The longest I have had any cat was 16 years.
One of my sisters has been in hospice for several months now (she has cancer). She just called me to wish me a happy birthday and told me that she has decided to quit hospice and try to beat it instead.
Please send all your prayers and loving wishes for her success in this attempt.
Dear Fellow BCN Mega Orbsters! I hit the hay early last night & didn’t see the rest of the kind, sweet and encouraging messages that were posted. I went back, and WOW, you guys are WONDERFUL! Some had questions that I wish to let you know I responded to. And BRIEN43, that was an awesome definition! Nail-on-the-head! So thankful we’re in Georgia’s BCN Mega Orb together!
Orbsters stand together!!!!! >^.,.^< :-)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
On an entirely unrelated topic, SHAUNMUNN, I’ve decided that I will think of all of our cats as “orbsters” or maybe “orbettes” from now on…seeing as how they live in their own little orbs and yet, through our devotion to this wonderful comic strip, have become by default an integral part of the BCN MegaOrb. I hope you approve :):)

LOL – Lupin’s wide eyed innocence in panel two and Puck’s skepticism in panel seven.

For shame! Calling Lupin a liar at Christmas! He has complete deniability. Good morning/evening BCN Mega Orbsters!

Well, after all, the People LOVE decorating the tree, so you have to take the ornaments off over and over so they can keep doing it!
