    Coincidentally, Henry VIII’s funeral was identical to William’s as goes the popping coffin.

    And weaponized hairpins have been around since the Sengoku era. (They’re formally known as kanzashi. Female ninja spies, or “kunoichi”, used them as part of their civilian guise.)

    When I read the section on hat pins the first thing I thought of was my mom. Another item she always said made a good weapon was a cast iron frying pan.
