I’ve read this story line a dozen times and yet every day I can’t wait to tune in and see the latest installment. That’s the mark of a story well told. Thank you Georgia!
I just joined a couple weeks ago. Everyone says this is an old strip and they already know what’s coming. Will Lupin make it home unscathed?!? Wait… don’t tell me! Oh, love the mean looking houses.
Scroll on down and you will find a brief autobiography of Georgia that explains the history of the strip development. I have loved this strip since I first stumbled across the original blog format. Love it to bits and wish I could give Georgia and the good boys a big hug.
When this strip originally ran, someone commented “Georgia, you bring those boys home RIGHT NOW!” Even though I love how this plays out, that’s how today’s strip makes me feel!
Poor Elvis. Given his previous attitude about that cat in the yard, things just got worse. Well, he might just be desperate enough, with the empty food bowl in his tummy.
. . . hey! My comment yesterday was a simple guess. I haven’t been involved with BCN for very long, so I don’t know the previous stories or plots. Based on the personalities of “Elvis” and “Tommy”, they were bound to meet outside. Sheesh! ;)
I thought knowing how this story ends would make it easier to bear, but nope. Elvis hugging his tail, and his empty food bowl tummy, are still absolutely heartbreaking.
BCN is the only place reruns actually top the originals. This is my favorite story arc—and does it ever have competition! (Small teaser for you new folks. 8o)
This was the story line that made me realize that in addition to being an amazing artist, Georgia is also an amazing story teller. I still think this whole arc deserves to be published as a stand alone picture book for kids of ALL ages!
I posted a notice on the local bulletin board that I have found him. I also dropped a notice off to be read on the radio.
The kitten was very hungry when I showed him my own cats’ food dish and started chowing down immediately. He had been a little thin (not starving, but I had been able to feel his ribs easily), and has already put on some weight, just since yesterday, so I think he might have been on his own for at least a day or two before I found him.
I had some people doing work on my place yesterday (when I found the kitten) and he had been under a trailer they had brought to carry the materials they used on my home. This makes me think he might have gotten on the trailer somewhere else and rode it to where I live. He came right to me when I called him, though, which adds to my belief that he has a home somewhere and his people are probably missing him.
I went to pay my lot rent today (I live in a mobile home), and told the manager of the court about him. He told me that if I can’t find the kitten’s people, that he would like to have him as he thinks a cat with “thumbs” is neat. I can’t keep him myself (with three cats already, I am over what the park rules say I can have, also, my cats don’t like him), so having someone already interested in him if I can’t find his people is a plus.
Sadly, we have a feral cat problem here, and there are people in my neighborhood who are irresponsible with their pets, so there is a possibility that the kitten was dumped. I do hope that is not the case, and he was just lost.
Dear Georgia & BCN World; Been out of it a few days, but want to wish everyone a lovely weekend! Asking prayers for my mom-in-law, who had 2 feral mommies show up at her rural place. With their kittens, it’s grown to 15 at MIL’s place. Trying to get Neuter Scooter to help her. All wild. All local shelter can do is give MIL some food. We’re all short on resources, so prayers would be a great start! Thanks for a caring! We will do everything we can to keep the kitties alive & safe!

Poor Elvis, the houses are glaring angrily at him and he has the tummy rumbles, however will he cope?

Tommy always makes me think of John Candy (lol). He’s a feline version of John Candy.
