Not sure Posie should be hep to the term “Identifies,” at least not in its 21st Century context.

No matter what this won’t end well. You have Ermine and the Moon Governor, two men looking for answers to their daughter’s end and probably revenge to boot. And you have Bribery trying to get Ermine for some nefarious purpose. Plenty of ingredients for disaster.

“The news reports I heard”? So all of this is public knowledge? I’d have thought that it was way too sensitive to go public with it, especially her original identity. Something like this had to happen.

Can’t say as I feel sorry for a guy like Ermine losing a daughter. What heinous stuff has he done to people in his time; was his worst criminality directed to rivals ?

“At least one of us will have a DAUGHTER.”

 

YES! A great signal about where the story arc is headed, and an indication of Governor’s openness to receiving Mysta as his baby girl.

 

I can’t wait for all of this to unfold!

Could someone summarize the current story for a new reader?

Only Posie has a living daughter, even if her memory has been altered. Moon Maid is gone. Wishful thinking can’t change the facts.

And how will his granddaughter be involved in this? I know some how she will be included in all this episode?

I just don’t understand why the governor doesn’t just drop in on the Tracy household as “Grandpa” visiting Honey Moon, and while he is in town – so to speak – casually ask Dick Tracy about Mysta. Or for that matter even contact Mysta telepathically like Honey Moon does?

Unless it is going to turn out that Ermine Posey is actually a refugee from the moon himself, which is why Mysta’s cosmetic enhancement antenna allow her to be telepathic

The other people in that coffee shop must be freaking out.

For them to really get to the bottom of this, they may have to connect with the guys that were in the space coupe Diet Smith sent away. I’m beginning to suspect that perhaps the Lunarians might use or have used their fleet to rescue or recover that one.

It wasn’t Just surgery if I recall, it was also DNA Modification and Memory Replacement. Sorry Posie, but I believe Moon Maid’s DNA has re-written your daughters DNA.

It won’t be the Moon Governor. The original Mysta is gone. Incinerated.

Posie Ermine could possibly regain his daughter. During the big reveal, Mindy/Glenna was asked if she wanted to be returned to her original state, but declined, saying she was content to live as the new Mysta. That implies that the chimera process is reversible. See the strips beginning with this one:

Question. When did Posie Ermine first show up in the strip? I think in the 60’s?

Shout out to Avenger09: I have to agree with you on this one. Call it wishful thinking on my part, but it has always appeared to me that this was the main flaw in the re-introduction of Moon Maid, that Mike and Joe went the chimera route instead of granting Mysta the Hollywood resurrection that they granted Bribery.

Continuing that thought, I find it more than significant that Moon Governor that the first person he chooses to contact is known criminal Posey Ermine. Among other things, this does not bode well for the future of Moon Maid in Dick Tracy!

Long, long ago, in another galaxy (of sorts), someone commented that Mike and Joe never intended for Moon Maid to be a permanent character in this strip. This storyline may well be the mechanism by which Moon Maid is removed from Dick Tracy, once and for all!

Moon Gov vs Bribery…this could messy. I predict Honeymoon will get dragged into this.

To learn why, Mr. Ermine, you’d have to question the doctors who altered your Mindy. Maybe Moon Governor can make that happen, with the resources (space coupes) available to him! And, that might make some of us (i.e., me) happy, too!

P.S. I’m glad that coffee shop isn’t one that I frequent. Too many weirdos in there!

So far has been a week of tremendously entertaining strips! Good work, Mike & Joe.

I wish to say here that I support the idea of Mysta staying as a permanent character. She has been FAR more than a sexy woman, more of a mentor and fine friend for Honeymoon. Yes the men here have a crush on her (and yes I can appreciate her physical beauty :), but I believe they too see the qualities of her.

There is so few female characters who is so well rounded and ones who know her can see she’s certainly changed into an outstanding character. Although I understand she cannot be on all the time, at least keep her as a re-occurring character when the story needs her. Even if it’s when she has to be ‘normal’
