Why do I have the feeling that Pam Ewing is going to walk into the bathroom and find Bobby in the shower?
Seems like the timeline is seriously jumbled the last few weeks…from Bribery pushing the jogger, to Tracy’s abduction on Christmas (eve?), to Sawtooth taping him to a tree, to Wendy Wichell’s broadcast, to Sam being alerted, to the MCS looking into Tracys disappearance (and Armstrong’s apathy), to tracy waking and finding himself taped to a tree, to rifle ruby and rhett freeing him, to Bribery assigning T-Bolt to escort Crystal to the mall, to junior asking tess about the gifts, to Honeymoon meeting Crystal and T-Bolt (and the jolt by Grandpappy Moon Doggy), then back to tracy in the squad room

I get that the interchange between Tracy and the Chief is mostly a joke, but Tracy’s remark is nevertheless an acknowledgement of Ruby’s help and Tracy’s deep appreciation. So the Chief’s answer sort of doesn’t make sense. “When are we going to make her a deputy?” “When we won’t need her anymore.”
At first I thought that Tracy’s hand gesture was a mimic of the swearing-in ceremony for a deputy, but it is his left hand, not his right. I guess it’s just a greeting to the squad, plus, it lets us readers know that he has a bandage on at least one hand from his ordeal.
They actually do have some leads. They know from Lee that Sawtooth is an employee of Bribery, and they can find out from Lee (or already know) where Bribery’s hideout is located, and that Sawtooth is most likely there at some point during the day. If they don’t want to upset the whole undercover thing, why don’t they just sit on the hideout until Sawtooth comes outside, and nab him without tipping Bribery to what is going on?
Even if all that were not available to them, what about good old fashioned police leg work – they should have been canvassing for anyone renting a truck with a snowplow, unless they think Sawtooth owns that truck, which doesn’t seem too likely – he made a oint of saying this was not his usual MO.
Bribery must be bribing the cops NOT to have him arrested, lol… I mean he’s a sitting duck there, and they already have enough evidence on him to put him away for a few hundred years…
So, Tracy has had a touch of frostbite, though not of the more serious kind. His hand should heal and the rope-burns fade soon enough. At least he is functioning efficiently as tactical leader for the MCU team, noticeably his partner, Sam, and Lizz. And Chief Patton is in the loop, too. Time to tighten the net on Bribery and his gang (Sawtooth, Ygor; not sure if the MCU is aware of Matty Squared yet—that could become a problem). What will become of Crystal? Will Sawtooth manage to kidnap Mysta before the Hammer of the Law comes down on him? The hunt is on!
