Good question Caulfield. Present to me a 100 word paper tomorrow, stating your belief on the subject, and state your reasons why.

She should turn every question not in keeping with the study material into a homework assignment. 3 benefits, one it doesn’t throw her off, second Caulfield will stop disrupting the class, or third, it will allow him to use his brain in class.

Where destiny is gravity, a bird exhibits free will.

There is usually some wriggle room if you can find it, to make destiny a multiple choice rather than a true-false.

This kid will grow up to be a teacher. His predetermined destiny.

Well, at last!! Caulfield has actually put his life purpose in words.

Depends whether one believes in predestination or in following the lifestyle of the wandering minstrel to one’s surprise end.

Actually it is possible to believe in anything.

Whew! That means I don’t have to feel guilty about the unfortunate choices I’ve made in my lifetime. They were predestined!

Good, thoughtful question…but did it have anything to do with the lesson? Why doesn’t Caulfield save his random questions for his parents?

I’d say it supports it. Belief does not necessitate possible outcomes that may or may not be real or true. Belief is simply ones personal mental absurdity of something unseen or even unseen. I have belief that these letters are forming words and the words are forming sentences. I also have belief someone out there will read this and be determined to prove me wrong. Two things I can believe, one is actual, the other probable. Therefore, it is possible to have belief in destiny. Now, that said, I believe these comics are getting far to surreal and trying to be funny over things that truly are not funny because they are not as ironic or counter-point as Jeff thinks they are. Jeff, you are trying too hard. go back and look over your older materials. That was when this strip had some real charm. I feel, and this is personal opinion, it’s loosing that charm. I also believe deep fans will criticize me for what I’ve said. But I also believe I will not come back to this page to see if anyone has done so. Maybe no one will read it, and it will pass away into the …..whatever of the internet never to resurface again. If so, good riddance! Right?
