@cervel: seems to me that the other student’s face is expressionless, while she just takes in what goes on. On the other hand, Caulfield’s eyes just look black to me until I cranked the + about 220%.
Guess it is all in the eye of the beholder, like so many other things.
The kid is good…and bored. This is mental exercise to him. Dennis the Menace isn’t half as smart, but still plays the same game for fun and because he is irascible.
Statistically speaking, I suppose “Huh?” may or may not be the universal median follow-up question nor is it likely the mean follow-up question, if there is even such thing. But I strongly suspect it’s the mode.
Most of what I know about buns of steel is that I’ve aspired to them as a cyclist and only ever seemed to possess them as a swimmer. So I guess my problem isn’t one of awesomeness so much as one of organization and distribution.Frazz by Jef Mallett for Feb 7, 2018 | GoComics.com
Her mental judo has its good and bad days. Teaching high school, I try to keep my wit razor-sharp. My immediate response would have been “Now that it’s thawed, are you gonna need fresh pants?” Or “Please stay standing, then. I don’t want you scratching the chairs.” Or maybe, “All right, but stay away from the magnets.”

Ok, and what happened to Caulfield’s eyes? The’re blue! Most times the’re an impish shade of reddish brown.

I … I think that I, too, am at a loss for words.
This one made me chuckle, though.

Obvious excuses yesterday; absurdly non-obvious ones today.
