Dad is cool. He thinks fast and occasionally comes up with plausible sounding theories to chill Danae’s customary over reactions to almost everything that exists. Gives him moments of peace. But only moments. Danae’s outrage never sleeps.
Very funny, especially in light of this week’s news that the “Gunshine State” wants to revert back to being the “Sunshine State” by instituting year round Daylight Savings Time. Duh !
I don’t know about Daylight Saving Time, but when I realized it was coming up on sunrise I decided to start my sun tea on the patio before going to bed.
I hope some time in the next six hours or so it stops raining.
Well, now, this doesn’t make sense. To spring forward means the old 6am is now the new 7am and the sun has risen by that time. So, why is she complaining that it’s still dark???
My clock has 365 numbers on it and counts days. When it breaks, it’s still right once a year. Sometimes I observe birthday savings time and set it forward a month. It’s fun trying to watch the hands move.
Pick a time and stick with it. MOST of the world DOES NOT change the clocks twice a year. It was helpful in the days of candles, but there is no need in this day and age of cheap electricity.
It made some sense back in the Eighteenth Century when Ben Franklin proposed it (candles, and no air-conditioning). But times have changed (sorry) and we should change too. Reminds me of another subject where things have changed since the Eighteenth Century.

If you skip the first couple of frames, you’d think you were listening to a Cap’n Eddie story.

The best explanation I have seen. Plus, Danae is in a better mood now.

Plot stolen from BC comics. Besides, we all know it was 7,892 years ago.

One of the many things I liked about Arizona, when I lived there, was we stayed on Standard Time year round.
It is also on my Like List , living here, in Ecuador – no DST !

How about a compromise: set it ahead 1/2 hour and leave it there forever!

My mother told me that we have Daylight Savings Time so golfers could have an extra hour to golf after they got out of work at 5PM.
I’d like to have that extra hour of daylight after work in the winter when it’s usually pitch dark before I get home.
