I agree, Alice! –Stupid plates! And I endorse enthusiastically Petey’s pickiness.

    Chill, Mom!

I’m afraid I am more familiar with Alice’s problem than Petey’s. Although, I only had three desserts yesterday.

I admit to having a very small piece of cheese cake yesterday, just to say I had some, but I wish I had a bigger plate or a trough for my tur-duc-hen dinner.

The dessert choices at my family’s Thanksgiving dinner were pumpkin pie and pumpkin cheesecake. Just the thing for someone like me who hates pumpkin.

can’t you just hear the harps and angel choirs in the words, “Oh, Petey. It’s the dessert table.”?

There’re going to be there a LONG time, until Petey gets all those grains of rice out. Alice should have time for seconds!

    Celecca - exactly! A hush, a whisper, angel-voices, trumpets!

I was Alice last night, there was pumpkin pie AND strawberry rhubarb pie…and I was already full..

Don’t bother with the stupid little plate, Alice – just take your chair to the dessert table! (At least she can have Petey’s share…)

Sometimes the meal is just an appetizer leading to the dessert table.

One Thanksgiving here, there were 10 people and 6 pies…deep dish apple, apple-blueberry, pumpkin, mince, almond custard and pecan…

Gotta go with Petey on this one … rice pudding is just too freakin’ lumpy!

It must have been a pretty bad selection for Petey to end up with rice pudding! No plain brownies, vanilla ice cream or something else a picky eater likes? (All of our family are picky eaters, so I’m used to this problem.)

My Mom was very much kin to Alice. Her favorite part of the Thanksgiving Buffet was the desserts. She never had less than 3, often more. This was my first Thanksgiving without her and I missed her most as I got my dessert.

I’m not really a “sweets-oriented” person but I like ‘em. WaitingMan, I made pumpkin pies (my fave) and our son-in-law also made pumpkin cheesecake (delicious!) I only had a piece of cheesecake and a bite of pie–both yummy, but I’m sure that catapulted me to consuming the number of calories “they” say we do at Thanksgiving. Oh well…

Petey reminds me of myself when I was young. I remember picking the cottage cheese out of a mixed salad one curd at a time…

If you’re not a picky eater, you’ll never understand.

If you take the rice out of the rice pudding, is there anything left?

I knew I wasn’t the only one that realized the dessert plates are so tiny at fancy restuarants
