If you’re lucky, you’ll have a hideous nightmare and the awakening will warp you out of immediate danger.

I tried that. It’s a quick way to run out of money, run out of food, and have someone repossess your bed.

Don’t retreat. Get up, register to vote, and encourage others to register. Help to set up a solid campaign, and select a good candidate.

The silver lining Pig, is that you didn’t die in your sleep. So today get out of bed and do the happy dance, and have a really good cup of coffee. Oh, and don’t forget to sell all of your stocks before the market crashes or you may be back in bed.

I don’t even get that far. Wake up. Contemplate getting out of a nice warm bed. Retreat and then remember I have to work to pay the bills.

Anyone else remember when comics used to be, you know, comical. If I want social commentary, I’ll turn on the radio.

There have been far worse times than these. Go back just a hundred years when the Spanish Flu killed millions. Or the 1930’s, with the Great Depression and the Dust Bowl.

The world is exactly the way we make it. It follows therefore that a bunch of people think we are doing things just right. And that my friends, is a very scary thought.

Let’s see:1. 1900 – 2000 World War What? Vietnam War? Korean War? We dropped what on Japan?2. 1800 – 1900 Trail of Tears. Buffalo killed off and Native Americans (indians) killed and drove from their home. Spanish American war. War of 1812. Civil War. Riots in New York and Chicago. Chicago burnt down. Spanish Flu.1700 – 1800 Revolution. Indians killed and driven from their lands. Fighting over religious freedom. More wars through out world. Afraid to go to bed at night, afraid to wake in morning. Slavery is rampant.1600 – 1700 People dying from diseases that two hundred years in the future can be cured. Hunger, starvation, murder everywhere.1500 – 1600 Letter “J” is added to alphabet. Iseus now is Jesus and the letter “J” is now pronounced “jeh”. Muslims have taken control of the Holy Land and war is every where.Still think it worse than the good old days? Maybe you’re right. Let’s just light all the nukes and call it a day.

My philosophy has always been: Stay in bed, things only get bad when you get out of it.

Now if I could only follow my own philosophy.

At least Pig has options. For most of our lives we have to get up, like it or not, for school or for the job.

That’s why I like being retired!

I have a simple creedo, Every day above ground is a good one, some are just better then others. You can try and hide but the less good times will still find you and you’ll just miss or of the better ones.
