Who hasn’t had a cat look like panel three? Usually they manage to pull stuff off whatever surface they’re trying to access. Usually breakable stuff. Which then lands on the floor with a crash. But that doesn’t matter, right? As long as they make it …
Once watched the twins, McDonnell and Douglas, practicing how to jump onto the patio dividing wall. One of them went through several cycles of “if I jump from the top of the grill, I’m starting higher up, but if I use the side table, I’m a foot and a half closer; which way to resolve the trade-off?”
He finally made it, grabbing the top of the wall with the front paws and scrabbling the rest of the way up. Then he sat there taunting his brother from the top of the wall as he went through exactly the same indecision.
Lucky the chute is so short! I’ve seen some almighty long ones that would take a miracle to ascend! Yet it’s still way more adventurous than a kitty door & stairs! ;-)
>^.,.^<
And a pleasant Mewsday to orbsters everywhere! Love, bumps & boops for all & sundry, with extras for any in distress! Blessings!!!!
OMC, this isn’t just a cartoon it’s a nature documentary. So true to life. But I can’t help but wonder at such a smooth basement wall in a house as old as the big pink house….would have expected more possible kitty claw holds to be available. But when next seen Elvis will be washing a casual paw with that cat attitude that exudes self satisfaction at his own grace and ability.

It’s either a foul or an assist on Lupin’s part but it doesn’t matter they have to get going. No points for style though. Just don’t get caught and the rest of it doesn’t matter.
I understand poor Elvis. Had a grey cat that couldn’t jump at all. My mom also has a grey cat that doesn’t jump, just claws his way up the bed (like Spiderman). I get the impression that some cats are just jump – impaired. There must be a school or a committee for that.

OMC – I’m laughing out loud at the crawls this morning. Bert is right on the money -or should I say (cat) nose?

Snarky Burt! Elvis looks so confident in panel one, kind of “Oh, I got this!”. Panel two, and especially three, well . . .

Lupin needs a quick move here, or he’s going straight to the floor!

A cat is never clumsy. Everything they do is the epitome of grace. If you think otherwise, you saw it wrong.

and that’s why lupin told elvis to go first.

Haha! I’ll bet it felt like being rammed by a small horse! Got the giggles over Burt’s descriptions in panel 3!

Do they call him “Leapin’ Lupin”?

Kinda looks like Elvis might belly flop onto the floor once he clears the chute. Let’s hope if he does that Lupin doesn’t land on top of him. THWUMP

And it’s Lupin, with the assist! Why am I ‘seeing’ Lupin skating back up the ice, stick in the air?

It looks like Elvis is really flying out of the chute in the last panel, but next time probably hopes for an easier take off

…easy for Burt to make these comments, but I don’t see him trying to climb a slippery laundry chute…

Hello fellow orbsters, you have been my mews. Since I’m still in King and I mode, here is Elvis’ song, to the tune of March of the Siamese Children:
Everybody stand
And give a hand
To the cat who is all that
He is the Siamese
Who never can be pleased
When he starts to poof
That is the proof
That you should give him ham
That’s how the Siamese
Comes close to being pleased
Although, truth be told
He has a heart of gold
He doesn’t want to let it show,
So don’t let on you know
When his friends are in need
He is there indeed
There is not a catch
There’s no match
For him, the Siamese
No one can ever please!
Oh wait!
There’s one cat
In suit and perfect pearls
An alpha girl!
She puts Elvis on the spot!
She’s carrying the read dot!
They push and shove, could they be in love?
That’s for them to know.
We all love our boys
They bring joy
We love to see
That cute Siamese,
Who has us very pleased!
