I was 13 when “Pet Sounds” was released. Our family had a pet dog at the time who would absolutely freak whenever he heard the barking dogs at the end of the album. Which was often since I played the masterpiece album almost every day.
That first panel did it for me. Once I was pretty sick (thankfully, not life-threatening). I heard a song that brought back a pleasant memory, and felt a moment of peace. Sometimes that’s all it takes.
