In the late ‘90s, I read that someone developed a directional speaker. The idea was a person standing in front of a display would hear it, but it wouldn’t disturb others nearby.
I wanted to get one, find someone with a phobia of becoming schizophrenic, and follow them around making them hear voices that no one else could hear.

Right! The voices in my head say they aren’t really there! Hey, Voices In My Head! Who’s the crazy one now?
