Henri’s aim was spoiled by anxiety?! Let’s return to August 15th, panel 1: “Henri waited PATIENTLY until his quarry came within gunsight. Then, SLOWLY, he squeezed the trigger”. OK, the writer had to come up with some explanation for Tarzan’s survival, but that’s ridiculous.
That was a well thought out plan. Let’s see, I’ll get shot at and hopefully only get a flesh wound; which with a rifle bullet would probably be gaping and bleeding.
All we need do is remember whose name is the title of the strip. We may not know what’s gonna happen next, but we definitely know what’s NOT gonna happen.

It was still a pretty stupid plan. What if Henri’s aim wasn’t spoiled by anxiety? Like when he shot all of the others?

As Tarzan watched, he began to think something was wrong. If only he had some evidence!
[Side Snark: Isn’t a crocodile supposed to be feasting on his remains right about now?]

Henri killed all of the others flawlessly, so why be anxious this time?
