I have just been diagnosed “colourblind” to “Stevan’s” “humour”, which is now a “striptease”.

The Commonwealth spells “defense” with a C instead of an S? Never knew. Their spellings sure causes them to be the centre of attention here in the U.S.

Well, the English spelled them that way long before the Canadians did, so maybe she’s secretly seeing an Englishman.

I’m Canadian, but I prefer the US’s spelling of those words. I find them more efficient.

I’m Canadian and don’t remember ever ever using the ‘ou’ over ‘o’ in those words but I also live in a border town so that may be a factor.

Good grief, first they burn down the White House in 1814, then they’re smuggling American shoes over the border, now they’re changing American spelling. Somebody really ought to be Tweeting about this!

I’m always bugged when I go to my playlist and play Queen’s “In My Defence”. In fact, it bugged me so much, I changed the spelling on my playlist to Defense. I know the Brits use the “c”, though. So it makes sense that Canadians do also. Or should I say "makes “sence” ?

In the US: gray is the color of aluminum.

In the UK: grey is the colour of aluminium.

This strip is two panels too long, although perhaps then only Americans would get it.

It’s ironic that my #3 comic strip is using Canadian spelling on the same day I’m going to a concert by my #1 singer, Gordon Lightfoot!!!

Do Canadians spell it “gaol,” like the English? That one is so weird it looks like they pronounce it wrong, too.

That is British spelling, which is used in Commonwealth countries like Canada as well as in Britain itself.

Even worse than the spelling is the stupid way the US (remember, Canadians and Mexicans are indeed North Americans) write their dates. They insist on using the nonsensical “Month-Day-Year” style. Why not get with the rest of the world and use “Day-Month-Year?”

the “ou” instead of just “o” is a British spelling. Unfortunately it’s being increasingly adopted by US publications as standard. I guess they’re pandering to British readers and assuming the American readers won’t notice.

So, if it’s a good thing to take out the “u” in “our”, why was it a good thing to add a “g” in wagon?

Clearly the neighbour is British and not Canadian. Canadians would have ended those sentences with “eh” ;-)

I’m pretty late getting in here but I really like that in Ontario one asks to use the washroom as opposed to bathroom or restroom. But then if you go to Quebec you go to the toilet.

Comic strip characters aware that they are in a comic strip demonstrate superior self-awareness. Cartoon-Boy rules! Canadian spelling loses (but so does Neighbor Bob)….
