That quote about insanity is usually attributed to Albert Einstein (though sometimes Ben Franklin or Mark Twain), but its first appearance is in a Narcotics Anonymous text from 1981.
As someone else pointed out, when it comes to skills, doing the same thing again and again is not only very helpful, but it creates different results. It’s called “practice” and it’s how your skills improve.
If either Einstein or Twain had actually said a third the things for which they are accredited, they would still be alive. Hard to get that much folksy wisdom in one life span.
All I react to here is the disparagement of (national) cable news with its endless panels of experts, and the futility of their sum debates. The true futility of repeating comes from habitual viewership of same.

“Expecting different results”
Does he mean like expecting Socialism to work THIS time for SURE?

As an oridinary working class person, I have always been financially worse off under a so-called socialist government.

That’s not the definition of insanity. And I’m certain Albert Einstein would never have said that it is.

Flo can always tell when a conversation with Cap’n Eddie has reached the end if it’s entertainment value.

Unlike Edison, who tried lots of different things that didn’t work.

Don’t forget the corollary…
Insanity is doing a different thing each time, but expecting the same result.

Einstein never said that.
And doing the same thing over and over, hoping for better results, is more correctly called practice.
