The cat isn’t sitting on the keyboard only because there’s no human trying to use it.

Mine climbs up on top of my flat screen anyway. Then he hangs over and watches it upside down.

My cats used to vie to be first on top of the CRT monitor in winter. They’d try it a few times in summer, and then look at it resentfully when they scrambled off after a minute or 2.

But no matter who it was, I had to keep pushing their tail aside.

Growing up, we had a cat that would do that on the TV. My mother would call that tailavision.

14 years ago one of our cats, Charlie, would lie on top of the monitor on heat vent. Windows 95 was slow enough, but when monitor overheated……

The cats would try to lay their heads on hubby’s laptop keyboard. He gave up, got a plug-in keyboard he could move at will, and put a thin cutting board on the keyboard of his naptop so the cats could lay their heads and part of their bodies on the cutting board without them typing for him. I have a small overbed table so they can’t do it to mine. When I’m in the La-z-boy, it’s on a TV tray. No room for cats. Well, not anymore, because we just adopted a kitten from the shelter a week ago. Integration with the other three cats goes slowly but will pick up speed. Achilles tried to type yesterday, but I didn’t let him find out that the naptop is full of warm. Good thing the TVs are mounted on the wall – no tails.

“Naptop, laptop, let’s call the whole thing mine.” -Nimitz

“If it is not meant to nap, why is it made of warm?” -Mac

My old Commodore had an external floppy drive with vents on the top. Our half-Siamese,“Li’l Bitte” would sit on top of the vents. I referred to it as the ’Bitte Bun-warmer. What really freaked me out was the way she would sit on top of the old dot-matrix printer and wriggle sensuously as the print head went back and forth, making the whole unit vibrate!

ahh yes, the old days of computer plastics that yellowed with age like they were kept in a room full of smokers.

I miss the days when computers came with top mounted screen cleaners.
