Well, let’s see y’all politicize today’s strip: 3-2-1 . . .

Yesterday I was going to say (and it still fits) numbers don’t lie, but people can lie with numbers. That’s not politics, just a fact.

Must’ve been a real delayed reaction, ’cause he was still pouring the coffee when you hit the laugh line.

I made my point yesterday.

Had a school superintendent who did that once upon a time. He’d develop the next year’s budget based on last year’s budget with an increase. He didn’t analyze the actual expenses to determine if the budget made any sense, just recycled last year’s projection with an increase and moved money around during the year to make it work.

Fits of preposterousity, like sneezes, usually hit at the worst times.

Sounds like the way global warming got started. ’course it helps if you make up the numbers to start with.

That HAS to be the way “Trickle Down Economics” works.

“Lookit all the pretty charts and graphs! It HAS to work this time, because our charts and graphs SAY SO!!”

That’s like projecting that the end of the Earth will come in about 4 billion years so why bother trying to make things better.

I was drinking my coffee when I got to the punchline. Thank goodness it was luke warm!

I’d love to see the specifics of the model used to generate the projection – I suspect there might be nth order mathematics utilizing irrational numbers involved.

Kind of hard for Danae’s Dad to have spurted coffee out of his nose when he hasn’t even finished pouring it into his cup to drink it when she said it and showed him the chart in panel 3. More likely he would have spilled coffee, or dropped the pot from laughing.

Kind of like catastrophic climate change/global warming: Who cares about actual measurements when we have computer models?

I once watched a woman “Snarf” 5 people at Once.

Impeccable timing. She waited until she saw them all reach for their drinks at about the same time, then hit the crowd with her “Zinger”.
