Sound advice from the good Doctor !
What depression?
Who’s a good boy? You are, that’s who!
Until he vomits in your slipper at 3am.
Or gets sick, because the only thing sadder than a sick puppy is a sick kitten.
Best antidepressant there is!
Can I hold him? Pass him through. ;-)
That is until he gets older in this strip and begins to get snarky.
Double-blind clinical studies show cats to be 37 percent more effective at relieving depression than dogs.
DAAWWWWW.
Unfortunately, in reality, the poor dog will be neglected. Someone suffering from clinical depression neglects themselves and is incapable of caring for a dog that is dependent on him.
Propaganda
Well, if he doesn’t want the pup, I’ll take him.
Harry, you nailed it.
I certainly can’t argue with that!
My God is that right!!! After my brain injury I couldn’t work or do anything anymore. My puppy kept me perfectly happy and sane though!
For many, sane medicine. But do take care of the pet!
Or perhaps a cat or two will do the same thing.
Um … two puppies?
“I’m sorry to hear you aren’t feeling better… Where’s the puppy?”
“You didn’t want me to swallow it? That’s why I’m not feeling so good!”
Someone else can have the puppy. I am allergic to and afraid of dogs. (Got badly bitten.)
This is both so beautifully moving and very true.
Puppies are awe-inspiring. You can’t look at them and not go “Awwww….”
