Trouble’s brewin’ in Tracyville. Can’t ya see the storm clouds gathering ? I almost expect to see Lafayette standing under that sign in some kind of ironic twist of fate.
Astor?! You mean ASTRO BOY!! And anyone familiar with Tezuka’s story knows that Astor was the name of the original boy upon whom Astro was based… and why.
Yes a nod to the great “Disney of Japan” Osamu Tezuka. Yes Astor Boyington. My first anime and I wanted to be that little android Astro Boy, a different turn on the Frankenstein story. I’ve got several of the compilation books. I was 6-7 at the time.
i LOVE when Astor shows up, it counterbalances all the girly teen garbage.
Neil, correct me if im wrong but i believe the last time we saw Astor was during the Cosplay Convention story which was, what, over a year or more ago?
Personally, I’m loving this aspect of the Tracy universe. It’s nice to see, for a change, the ‘bad girl’ isn’t stereotypical “I’m the child of bad parents, so I’ll automatically go into crime.”
I do hope that Crystal becomes a true friend of Honey. There’s too much backstabbing in lit anymore.
Losing the high collar has freed Crystal’s character and ability to express her personality. And, as panel 1 shows, it proves she never really was “Ugly” Crystal.
But that 3rd panel is ominous. Astor seems to hint at a Bad Guy (or Gal), and I fear that Honeymoon may be tempted into vigilante mode only to fall into a trap of some sort (not excluding being kidnapped by Volkov’s minions, along with Crystal who would try to come to her aid).
The plot thickens. It’s coming to a boil, in fact….

I have a question. Besides yesterday is this the time we’ve seen Crystal’s chin?

If the drugs aren’t free, it’s false advertising.

Careful on the Astroboy/anime references. Next we know it’ll be a Godzilla/Dicko crossover

Ooh! The drug dealer is under the “Drug-Free” sign!
Isn’t it ironic, don’t you think
A little too ironic…

Looks like Honeymoon has her own Junior Crimebusters team working. Herself, Crystal, and Astor. Now all she needs is the dog.

It’s Gil Thorp hanging out. He wants his strip back.
