Can’t Boopsie do this by herself? I mean, she’s all self-reliant now.

Boopsie is so sweet. She is rightfully proud of herself for discovering that she can handle all these responsibilities. She wants to demonstrate this ability to BD and, in a lesser sense, to the insurance/finance guys she’s been dealing with. The insurance guys want this to seem like a big deal so that they’ll get a policy sold and $$$ in hand ASAP. And in her zeal, she loses sight of the bigger picture. The insurance thing IS trivial compared to coming home from war in one piece.

After having your life on the line 24/7 for the last half-year, trivial should sound pretty appealing.

What sort of insurance needs to be notarized? Home insurance?

Trivial depends on the context and your frame of reference.

Can’t say I’ve ever had to get anything notarized for insurance, particularly an application. Usually they can’t wait to take your money.

The issue on todays strip is NOT the insurance, it is about how trivial life is after BD has spent several months in combat in the mideast. Been there, done that.

A traumatized soldier will not feel better if insurance on something is cancelled, and an accident happens that will not be paid for. Trivial, perhaps, but important now and in the long run. It’s not like Boopsie said that McDonald’s was having a special on breakfasts for only 2 hours in the morning. Insurance is important.
