Earl is doing work ! Nelson grab a rake and help then you may jump in the pile of leaves! Now go inside when covered with leaf particles for this will make Opal very happy :-)
Opal know just when to show her ugly face! Earl just teaching Nelson how to be a man. That boy, like all kids now a days, done heard plenty worse than the word “Hell”. Earl should have given her a couple good whacks on her big booty with that rake and told her to get back inside to her house work!
I remember big piles of leaves on weekend afternoons and the smell of their smoke as they burned in the street. We would wrap potatoes and sausages in aluminum foil and make a hot lunch but burying the potatoes and sausages in the leaves before igniting them. Nowadays , it’s the sight of the bags on the curbs waiting for pick-up on yard work debris pick up day.
Sorry Opal, Hell it isn’t even one of the 7 words you can never say on TV. Fact is, I have seen a lot worse on TV over the last few years. What ever happened to family hour? From 8-9 ET.OT why are the majority of TV comedy shows about sex these days? Isn’t there anything else that is funny any more? Or are the writers so bad that is the only thing they can write about. Used to be our best comedy shows were the shows we stole from the BBC and Americanized, now, meh. I would rather watch paint dry, that would be more interesting

Actually, the leaves would do more good as mulch for Earl’s garden.

I don’t understand why a word that ministers use is a forbidden word.

Well, actually, autumn.
These trees can all
Just kiss my bottom."

With its falling leaves.
Because this season
Always makes me sneeze"

Reminds me of a poem my grandmother taught me:
Of all the fishies in the sea, my favorite is the bass.
He climbs up on the seaweed trees and slide down on his hands and knees.

There’s not ‘mulch’ you can do about that.

Still too much like Summer in Houston, Autumn hasn’t fallen yet.

I like autumn poems; they make me laugh; but then so did Earl’s; little verbal gaff
