I think these may be letter references to progressively old geologic periods, although I’m not completely familiar with them all (Google or look up in Wikipedia “geologic time scale”), for instance “K” commonly refers to the Cretaceous Period and “T” commonly refers to the Tertiary Period (also known as “Pg” or Paleogene Period). The K-T (or K-Pg) Boundary marks the last great extinction event on the planet, which witnessed the disappearance of the great dinosaurs among many other species. The other letters represent, as I mentioned I believe, the other commonly recognized geologic periods. I think the joke is that this is expected to be found by future geologists/archeologists who will “get it” and be amazed that these layers have been identified on this cliff face.
