Have the 80’s returned? Run up debt you can’t possibly repay, then declare bankruptcy when caught. At least you got to enjoy it for awhile.
Interesting – that in the 80’s, my spouse complained that I saved for retirement first, leaving us less to enjoy at the time. Now, that’s what the investment pundits/gurus are saying. I can easily retire and the ex-spouse is broke.
I know his pain. My total credit limit on my cards and line of credit is twice my annual income and I keep turning down additional increases to my credit limits. I could live that lifestyle on that income if I wasn’t brought up believing that debt is bad.

Go to Hawaii, then declare bankruptcy. You’ll be starting over, but you’ll be in Hawaii!

I practice the same fiscal policies as government. Spend way more on non essentials than I take in and pass my debt on to the next generation.
