My Maxie likes fuzzy blankets. I have one on my couch year round that I will put on my lap for her to lay on, but she likes it much better when it gets cooler, because in the summer I often have to adjust myself so I am less covered and the upsets her. :)

For those who didn’t see the post from yesterday, there are new BCN pins with Puck, Lupin, Elvis and Tommy in their PJs.

Fuzzy blanket season is the best season! Blossom’s been getting a lot more cuddly lately, so I think she’s feeling it cool down and wants to leech heat from her People!

Confidential to Puck: What’s most wonderful is that it’s not the hide of any creature.

Temperatures here are still in the 90’s, so we’re still in AC season. Weather reports indicate October will be below normal temps, so maybe I can take the fuzzy blankets out then.

Outside a dog, I can’t imagine a cozier place to read this book.

Inside a dog, there’s not enough light to read.

Around here there is no such thing as fuzzy blanket season. That implies we put them all away over the spring and summer and get them out for fall and winter. Nope, our cats enjoy fuzzy blankets year round. Though I do wonder sometimes about DC when it’s really hot and he decides to burrow under a fuzzy blanket. Maybe with the AC it’s too cold for him, or maybe the blanket traps cool air under it better. He does seem more comfortable when he does that.

Looks like the CN crew and their People have begun to decorate the studio for autumn. Just one more major set of decorative things to be brought out and strung around in honor of one of our reporters ….

How can it be “fuzzy blanket season” when the high is still supposed to be over 90?

Awww apple cider! Tea cup with a cinnamon stick in! Fuzzy blankets (to which YES, I can attest I’ve been all wrapped up in my woolly blankie the past several nights!) yay! I adore Pucky’s wondering look in the last panel—a magnificent beast indeed!

Just curious. Now that we’ve seen Tommy’s bold pink flamingo jammies, what do you picture as sleepwear for the rest of the gang. I see Burt wearing blue and green plaid! Sophie surely wears a nightgown with small violets printed on it.

In panel one, there are two little marks above Lupin’s facial fur that make me think he’s swishing his tail in happiness.

My cats Blackjack and Lily came from a hoarding situation and they are not really socialized to humans (yet!), so cuddling is still out of the question. But I woke up a couple of mornings ago to find them sleeping on my bed for the first time thanks to the beguiling, enticing allure of my fuzzy blanket. And Lily was kneading, so I got to hear her sweet purr for the first time! Hail to the power of fuzzy blankets!

Since cats are are covered with fur (except the poor sphinxes – why would anyone do that in the first place, let alone keep breeding them?) I can’t imagine they feel much actual fuzziness other than through their paws. Of course, they feel the enveloping warmth through their skin, but is that sufficient to account for the attraction? I suspect that the feeling in the paws remind them of feeling their mother when they were kittens. Anyone got any additional and (preferably) better ideas?

Blanket time, and the living is easy,

TV’s on, and the kibble bowl’s full

Jug of cider, with two sticks of cinnamon,

The kitties are happy, there are no rules.

The Woman is a quadriplegic. Maverick is more triggered by the sound of the Hoyer lift than he is by a can opener. He will eagerly wait for me to transfer her to the bed, then camp out on our comforter as soon as I am done putting it over her …and I get such a look from him when I have to move the comforter to get her dressed, undressed, etc.

Good morning and happy Thursday/Purrsday, orbsters and orbabies! We got a new reclining loveseat yesterday, and Yum Yum approves of the fuzzy blankets we have draped over it to keep her fur off it. Although it’s brown and her fur wouldn’t show up too much, it’s still easier to wash the blankets than to vacuum the furniture!

On a serious side, could I please ask the orb to pull together and pray for Last Rose of Summer and her hubby Dale? They are going through a particularly rough patch right now. Thanks, I know I can count on all of you.

If it’s fuzzy blanket season, can ‘biscuit making’ be far behind? (for those in the Commonwealth & other realms, this refers to a soft, flaky, leavened quick bread similar to a plain scone. The dough is kneaded, much like the kneading behavior of cats – especially on a fuzzy blanket – so we’re ‘making biscuits’!)

My boss made me stay home from work today. (Just my usual asthmatic bronchitis, but she and the other germaphobes were nervous that I may be contagious contagious.) PJ has learned to navigate the house well enough to find me in the living room, so she and Dee have not left my lap all morning. Horatio is not pleased! How can he do his nurse duty when two little interlopers are in his way? Lol

I would entitle that “Sweet Revenge” or “Karma” or something like that.

Mine love faux lamb’s wool. It’s cheap and not itchy at all. I’ve yet to meet a faux lamb though. We’ve all eaten plenty of lamb, the girls especially like lamb. One of these days I might get my throat slit for it if I’m not careful. That’s why I keep the utensil away from the kitties.

The blanket is the hide of the multicolor heffalump, a large animal which sheds its entire skin (and fur) annually. The multicolor heffalump is a very shy nocturnal animal so we rarely see them as they browse and migrate through their global range, but their shed furs are harvested renewably every year and find their way into many products for marketing worldwide.

My adult cat Darth loved our crocheted blanket. It was my first attempt at a blanket, so we let him use it. He kneaded it well. We referred to the blanket as “Darths mother.”

Fortunately for BCN fans in central NC, most of us escaped with minor damage from Florence. However, southeastern NC is still devastated from flooding. The reports are real.

Unfortunately for my cats, we live in Miami. It’s never fuzzy blanket season. There’s AC season and maybe a few days a year of “open the windows and turn off the AC” about mid-late January.

Hi all. Yesterday, I invited everyone to a Discord channel. Some who tried to join were confused as to how successful they had been, so I am took a screenshot of what the page looks like once you have joined it.

    https://imgur.com/byJXP85

This is what the page should look like once you have signed in. Since this is my account, it shows what my page looks like. On the left you can see the navigation for the channels to which I belong. On the right, you can see all the people who have joined the BCN Orb group so far.

This is what the Discord Home Page looks like:

If you tried to sign up for the BCN Orb channel and ended up there, then you may not yet have joined the channel. To find out for sure, click the “Open” button to go to the page where your channels are. The icon for the BCN Orb channel is embarrassed Lupin from Sunday’s strip. If you don’t see that, you have not joined the channel.

Once you have signed up for Discord, there is an app you can download, so you can access the channel without using your web browser. The app looks like this:
