I’m too busy trying to do stuff that would be worth reading about to actually write the book.

Swimming all day and eating clams and fish. What happened to the otter’s biography?

If you die before it’s written then it’s the shoulddaography.

Ya gotta be a little egocentric to write an autobiography.

Or maybe just interested in what you discover about yourself. The more you write about your past the more you understand why and how you became who you are.

Many words have been written about ‘looking back’, among them these:

Corollary: Maturity is the result of our eventual acknowledgment of our own ignorance in earlier years and the realization of our incredible good fortune in being able to look back and be improved by the experience. Sandpiper75 – 2013

The only reason to write about your life is to pass on family history to the next generation. Also, any pertinent medical history. (Why did grandfather not fight in WWI? He had an exemption because he had five children. Oh. That’s interesting.)

Give yourself permission beforehand; otherwise, it’s an unauthorized autobiography.

More people are writing their memoirs now than ever before, but they’re doing it a few sentences at a time on social media. Some of them might make a good book eventually, if they collected them all and had a really good editor.
