I think it was the last season of “’Til Death” that one of the characters was seeing a shrink because he believed he was on a comedy TV show. He was correct about the show but not the comedy.
I remember watching The Twilight Zone, The Outer Limits, etc. People were spied on through their tv’s, telephones, radios and cameras. Not only is all that true, but now also clothes washers, clothes driers, stoves, ovens, microwave ovens, shoes, computers, tablets, fans, climate control systems, security systems, child and baby monitors, adult monitors, patient monitors, toasters, lights, cars, trucks, etc, etc, etc report on users. A push is on to do the same with clothing. The great manipulators hear and record every sound made in the great all-encompassing web. She could be onto something. Who all knows what anyone or anybody is doing?
If anyone has bugged me then they’re in for a very boring time. I have conversations with the cat that are surreal at times and I sometimes sing along to the radio. I expect they’ll have moved on to someone else by now.
I was pretty sure the writer of Baby Blues and later Zits had cameras in our house because everything was so true to life when our sons were those ages.
yep, I feel your pain Opal – in fact I just GOOGLED IT! – and if I could put dots in those two Os – well you get the picture. but there are times I do have to draw the line. I mean when the toaster tells the washing machine that they overheard the microwave telling the thermostat that I have back hair – WELL that was just TOO much!!!!!!!! cause the only one that could verify that was the electric shaver
Yes, we do feel that Earl & Opal are spying on us. Seems like what ever we do the day before ends up in this comic strip, which must mean that ALL geezers are doing what we do. :)
We love Pickles! It is the fist thing we look at every morning. My wife and I have been married for 54 years we are 75 and 72 and we have done so many of the things portrayed in this cartoon it is almost scary.. I’m bald, bit of a tummy, glasses and put off doing chores as long as possible, she is grey, glasses and busy as a bee.. God Bless you and keep them coming.
I don’t know if it’s true, but ever since I heard that Mark Zuckerberg covers the camera lens on his computer, I have kept mine covered. I told a friend why there was tape on the camera, and she thought it was stupid. The next time I was at her house, I noticed she had her camera covered, too.

Of all the strips I’ve seen that cartoonists have made spoofing themselves and their art, this has to be the best.

Well Opal, in panels-1&4, look to your left, in panel-2, look behind you, and in panel-3, look a little past your right and you’ll find the cameras.

So yeah, as my wife was saying this morning " This darn cartoonist has been putting us in his comic strip everyday."

I have long suspected that Mr. Crane was indeed spying on us – I just haven’t found the hidden cameras and mics yet !
