I guess the thing about this story arc that bothers me is that Joe works hard an he does deserve time off. Marcy supports him just as he supports her. I hope she is the voice of reason. She usually is!
This is going to bother me until it ends. I don’t understand why a man can’t enjoy a day or two off work without somebody else’s input. Dana needs to chill and maybe consider hiring more people besides Marcy. Two people cannot handle that big hospital.
This is a very odd storyline. I don’t get why Marcy is so resentful and jealous all of a sudden when in the past she would have been understanding and wanting Joe to enjoy his very well earned time off. Now her attitude is “How DARE you have FUN while I have to work a long day!! I don’t care that you haven’t had any time off in weeks!! You have no right to enjoy yourself if I can’t!” It’s very out of character for her.
Joe works hard and risks his life on the streets of a major city not known for liking the “thin blue line” that keeps the peace… I think he is MORE than entitled to a day off like this.

What bugs me is that Dana could shorten Marcy’s workday,

Come on now…Joe did say it was his first day off in weeks. He needs a little down time too.

The Almighty knows the whole story. Dana should be watching out for Lightning

it’s not like he’s an idle house husband. He happens to be free now but I’m pretty sure cops have a pretty tough time on their shifts too…

So the moral we’re supposed to take away is that if you take leisure time while your wife works all the hours, you’re being a jerk?
Hard no on that, Comrade.

Human hypnotize themselves so often they never notice it. It colors their judgement and perceptions.
