In the end Ethan will become a lonely embittered old man with only his past memories.

Which sorta sounds like a lot of happy marriages I know.

Relationships are mostly shouting “What?” from another room. And if you’re in the same room, listening to the other person cough and make other weird noises.

That’s actually a great advice.
