I blame greedy landlords. rent should be 25-30% of one’s income, not 50-70%.

Upstate New York here. Minimum rent is about a thousand dollars a month – and that’s in a bad part of town. And if you want heat or windows, it’s even worse… (It’s generally advertised and shown at roughly $650 or so, but after one moves in, they’re slammed with about $500 of random fees out of nowhere.)

Well, he has worked at dodging hunters. Doesn’t that count?

Needs to find a sanctuary city, surely they’d take him in. Does this qualify as sanctuary if he flees to a church?

Then how about California where they made it difficult to build new housing, then wondered why there was a housing crisis? That many people have been rendered homeless by the recent fires does not help matters.

Tell me about it. I’m paid only $2000 and I can’t find a place for less than $700. Btw, 30% of $2000 is $600.

rental property costs: heating oil at 3.89 per gallon-300gallon tank=1200.00; property taxes {NJ] 4000.00 quarterly, electricity .89 KWH for mimimum 1000 kwh usage, water/sewage fees 300.00 quarterly, property upkeep [lawn care, snow removal,etc.] 500.00 quarterly=monthly rental not less than 2500.00 monthly just for the property owner to break even. best day of my life was the day that property sold.

And you wonder why Capitalism has such a bad reputation. What good is a society if you cannot afford to live there?

If you don’t hide soon, it’ll cost you an arm and a leg!
