So how many smart-mouths in here were ragging on how the “Protagonist-Centered” nature of Elly made her immune to any prosecution? Anyone wanna eat any crow over that :)?
Hey, Lynn! – - Great story! Don’t know if this was a replay from your early days or an original. Either way, this was a really funny story. I especially liked the 11/24 strip. Keep up the good work!
Last time I had jury duty, I got a parking ticket in the court’s lot for “parking backed in”. I had pulled through to make it easier to leave. There was a sign about it, but it was over nine feet off the ground at the entrance!
Looking over the course of this, while Lynn Johnston declared early on that the source was the TV show Night Court / Judge Judy, the antics of Elly in the courtroom are much more old school comedy, where the comedian plays an imbecile and everyone else in the courtroom is her straight man, especially the judge. In Night Court, everyone gets a chance to be funny, and in Judge Judy, only the judge gets to be funny.
Guess they are not doing any “yahoos” or “we did its” now. Come to think of it, the only people saying those yesterday were the Enjos when they celebrated the December 7th anniversary of their people attacking the US Navy in Hawaii.
Parking has been one of the biggest issues in siting a new city courthouse for Cheyenne, since they’ll no longer be sharing the county courtrooms. Of course, it’s already an issue for the county courthouse (as experienced when I went to register a new car).

if El hadn’t stalled during court, she would’ve gotten to her car faster before the meter man/maid came along.

I am not sure any of things Connie is saying are true, except the last one.

Suggestion: Never park at a meter for a court date.

there is no gain without some pain. Now she’ll have a memento of the win

This is a spiffy-looking court house. Most that I’ve seen are plain, red brick, and decidedly un-spifffy.

Aw, c’mon, a courthouse with no free parking for litigants?
