It’s that time of year again. People will gather around tables with family and friends thankful for what they have, enjoying their time together. Then, after they have wiped the last vestige of food from the corner of their mouth, they will arise from the table and charge forth into the shopping battle while it is still Thanksgiving Day. There they will encounter the retail store worker who couldn’t spent Thanksgiving with their family because of the greed of the shopper.
You may say it is the fault of the corporate world putting profits before people and that is partly true, but let’s face it, if the people didn’t shop on Thanksgiving, the stores wouldn’t open.
You may whine and say “But I’m only one of millions shopping that day.” That is also true, but YOU are the one who controls your habits. From that standpoint, if YOU shop on Thanksgiving, YOU are the reason so many people in this area will miss Thanksgiving with their families. YOU are the one that says they are thankful, but then shows a lack of concern for others. YOU are the one that is selfish.

Thank you. We really should be thankful for our freedom, privileges, and the right to grouse about even the smallest things.

Think about it, it’s YOUR choice.
