Dad should know to take the picture on “two.”

Looks like a bit of a smile in Panel 3! Perfect to send to relatives.

Of course Calvin ruined “3”.

right, Calvin, your hair gets messed up as soon as the camera’s flash goes off

The cameraman has too much patience. He needs to be faster.

I always said “OK, on three….. Three (click)!!” I didn’t say anything about other numbers.

These are always priceless.

My statement from yesterday still stands…

Before digital cameras. Dad may have had only one shot left on the roll of film. Now he has to go out and buy more.

I think more than his hair will get messed up.

Aw come on, dad! How is that not a great picture?

Calvin’s “I gotta be me” moment….

Come on Dad, you had to know this was going to happen.

Letting Calvin know when the click is coming is a bad idea.

Nowadays you could just keep snapping until his face gets tired and he relaxes it

I gotta whole lotta Calvin in me!

To this day (and I’m close to 50) I still stick my tongue out every time I see a camera pointed at me. I’ve never liked cameras, or being photographed.

What a big production it was to take a photo, setting up the slide projector and a movie camera with no sound. If you developed your own photos, you needed chemicals with skulls on them.

I did that ages ago and ruined a lovely family picture…

I always feel like pictures of me come out like panel 3 when I’m aiming for panel 2

I was a film purist, didn’t accept the digitals right away. Actually, in the beginning, they were pretty awful. Now I marvel as the inexhaustible free supply of pixels and the zero cost of developing. Plus…the digital cameras are waaay better now.

Candids, Dad. Candids. The kid will have the rest of his life with people telling him what to do.

A tie? On Calvin? Maybe a little unrealistic?

Wait a sec, if Dad wanted a pic to keep away the relatives, I’d say the one he just got was perfect.

I can’t believe that’s Calvin in the second frame.

heh, Calvin couldn’t pull this today, a digital camera could take infinite pictures, he’d just keep snapping over and over until Calvin got tired of making faces and just acquiesce

You did it to yourself, Calvin. Next time just take the picture then start counting.

I have a kid like him, he’s still spoiling photos at the age of 36.

Heh, I bet in the third photo, Calvin’s making a “BLAAAAAH!” sound to accompany that face.
