I have to feel some sympathy for boys his age. Girls that age can be manipulative, selfish, and rather forward (I should know.) . LOL . :D

Mike, when it comes to love, resisting is useless, you better let the feeling flow.

I love the Panel 2 girl in silhouette behind Martha whose dancing style appears to be like stomping bugs.

In Panel 3, where did Martha’s left arm go? It looks like the colourist got confused about whether that was Michael’s right arm or Martha’s left arm.

Hint: If the arm doesn’t have stripes on it, it belongs to Martha.

I remember a girl named Sue that I had a major crush on in college. We slow danced to Stairway to Heaven. But it did not work out well. She left the party early to be with someone she had a crush on. Oh well, that was a long time ago.

the people complaining of Martha’s being to demure in the last strip have to admit she’s calling the shots here! Go Martha!

Yup, you resisted yourself right into her arms. If you had meant to do this you would be in the bathroom puking by now. Which is probably where the ‘popular’ kids are about now.

People were still slow dancing in the late 80s? I thought that died along with all the good music starting in about 1986!

What I remember of the school dances (or sock hops) was sweating in tight, formal clothing and feeling the fuzz on the boys’ faces as we danced awkwardly cheek to cheek.

Don’t worry Michael. My husband was a little on the slow side too. Took him 6 weeks before he thought that maybe I possibly liked him when I was flirting harder than was decent for a Southern bred lady. That was when I learned I needed to drop subtly hints with baseball bat and an ACME anvil on his head. Been happily married almost 25 years.

What about Gordon and Allyson? They better do something soon or else someone’s photograph could fade.

While you’re “liking” it, Mike, I’m loving it! Martha is adorable.

OK, posting this here, too—Am I the only lost one who wonders what happened with awful story line from last week (girl drinking with boys)? I wanted to know that the guys came to the rescue or did SOMETHING! But suddenly we’re inside the party. . .

Sometimes there is a girl, you know she is crazy and bad for you, but every time she shows up, you go back. Sometimes the girl is not the only one who is crazy.

Love is a slippery slope. You have to get close enough to the edge to see what it’s all about, but then, it’s too late. You find yourself sliding into the thick of things. Sometimes it’s pure Heaven, but sometimes it’s absolute hell. Either way, it’s too late.

My landlady advised me that I would chase a girl, chase and chase until she caught me.

For a guy who says he likes it, his face sure doesn’t show that in the final panel.

OK, I admit it. I kissed a girl once. And I liked it. And still do……..

But it’s not how or whether YOU resist, but how the object of your love/infatuation/desire/whatever resists. Or accepts.

Like the wizard said to the tin man: “A heart is not measured by how much you love, but by how much you are loved by others.”

It’s the same with resistance.
