Ah, youthful innocence.

It all started when she told him to get some of those pills so they could have a better love life and he came home with a bottle of diet pills.

Opal has already confirmed that she won’t be telling Earl what he did wrong. So of course asking is out of the question. Earl should just enjoy the peace and quiet. She’ll need to nag him eventually.

Open the lines of communication to solve a problem? Absurd!

Nelson has a lot to learn! Actually I’ve never understood attitudes like Opal’s. If someone makes you mad say so! And tell them why.

Opal does not need an excuse to be mad at Earl. It is in her genes. If she was ever nice to him, he would not know who she was. Opal does not know how to be nice.

The quickest way to make a woman REALLY angry – ask her why she is angry!

I understand, Earl. I’ve made that mistake!

A hallmark of a lasting marriage is good communication. Which usually means the husband admitting it’s all his fault even before he knows the issue.

That trick never works!

I tried. Didn’t work. I found she bore a grudge over 20 years for something she mistakenly thought I said. Good thing her memory is getting worse. Wish her hearing had been better — or she had told me so I could clear up the misunderstanding.
