My dad bought a book like that to help him win the Lotto draws (with the bin of balls with numbers on them, and a few are drawn). The plan was to pick 10-12 numbers and buy ALL the combinations that would work for them – you may not hit the jackpot, but if you catch enough, you get multiples of the lesser prizes which will hopefully cover the fees for doing the same thing during the next draw.
@Number Three Today’s strip IS funny our Hero Mr Andrew Capp is an idiot thinking that just reading a book would make him win :o) right? my avatar today is of the characters of my fav comic books which I have been collecting since before you were born and I own them all , our friend Six also likes them , do you have any fav comics? how was your day? ours should be calm because all errands postponed till tomorrow take care pal.
Those type of book are winners for the author. They are the ones who get rich selling the books to people. And its the people who lose paying for those books which don’t do anything for them.

blame the author, Andy, not the storekeeper

He can’t do any worse with the book.

I could have bet that this would happen!

Even if the book weren’t a scam, how would we know? No way would Andy be able to accurately follow instructions.

You probably have to work—follow trends, results, and the like. Out of Andy’s league, I’m afraid.

The only real winners from those get rich quick books are the authors who make money from the suckers who buy their books.

Andy actually bought the book? (I would have thought he’d at least consider Abbe Hoffmann’s advice…)

Flo: Where did we go on holiday last year?
Andy: To yer mum’s.
Flo: Where did the bookie go?
Andy: Cozumel.
Flo: Think about that!

It’s a sure bet that Andy has rotten luck.

@Afficionado
I’ve only got one favourite comic strip which is Andy Capp by the original author, Reg Smythe.
I went out today. The strong winds had eased. I’m at my volunteering tomorrow and at bingo on Friday (I might see Flo & Rube there)
