The Man is a hero! He’s always ready to brave the elements to save a kitty! Thank goodness he has his knitted cap on to keep him from going insane out there!
Oh my Cat, get moving Man—the poor little shivering kitty needs to be saved from that freezing void before it’s too late!! If I could reach through this screen I would rescue her myself!
This story arc is somewhat similar to a story I just read on the news! An almost frozen solid kitty was found in a snowbank in Montana and miraculously was revived by the vets! I’m so happy that kitty is alive and at the same time, I’m so upset that the owners let their kitty outside in the first place!
I lived in Sweden for a while, so I know about the protective gear. I also know it isn’t guaranteed total protection. You can wear it all, and still be
…You have on your cumulative +10 armor and go to save the fury Princess. You come to a portal and open it. You come face to face with a Winter Dragon Kuraokami. What do you do?
Happy TGIF, orbsters and orbabies! I seem to have misplaced my location beacon which guards against insanity. I guess I’ll have to use Paul’s. C’mon, man, get a move on and go save that kitten!
Heroes have many faces and wear many kinds of armor. Sometimes that armor is fluffy with an adorable bobble on top, but the stats on that roll (and the audience appreciation score) say it’s very good armor indeed!
And while Invisible Lupin is among my top ten BCN tropes n’ themes (how’s that for a “one of my favorites” replacement?), our Cat of Adventure and his hat need to stay firmly inside – and visible – today!
The story reminds of the outside cat story recently on The Weather Channel. The owners found their cat caked in freezing, wet snow in sub-zero temperatures. They rushed her to the vet, who nursed her back and warmed her up.
No worries! Fluffy is fine now! (You should see her when they found her)! I think she’ll now be an ‘indoor cat’ from now on! :)
At least the Boys are smart enough to stay out of the void. Some of us have kitties that at least want test the void a little at least. Of course it’s been in the 70’s here for the last 3 days but the 20’s will be back tonight.
Yay – the man to the rescue! And his armor is proof against all comers because his heart is pure and he is in the service of good!
A quick update on Conan; he’s feeling HUNGRY today! :) Thanks for all the good wishes, purrs, and bumps – I’m sure they helped him get through this first week. I hope the next treatment will be a bit easier on him, since it will be given over a few days instead of all at once.
It’s taken me all day to wonder if “Guards Against Insanity” on the chart sounds suspiciously like “Cards Against Humanity” – especially coupled with the modifier points. Hmmm…maybe it’s just me.
BCN is just full of panels that I want to turn into FB profile pics. Today’s is the middle panel (although I really, really want to turn the one with Elvis feeling personally attacked by Lupin’s comment about shelves into an appropriate response for comment sections…)

The saving roll is new. Must be like Call of Cthulhu.
Then again, as Elvis says, it’s H. P. Lovecraft’s fault.

Do not look directly into the Void, man! You cannot grasp the true form!

I figured Lupin would be more of the D&D player type. But I guess he has to stay on the anchor desk.

He should be fine. He has at least a +10 modifier. He’d have to roll . . . well, like I did that one time . . . to run into any trouble.

Not understanding the last panel, but too tired to Google BillJ’s reference … later this morning.

Staring into the void is survivable. The real trick is withstanding the shock when you realize something in the void is staring back at you.

Given that the Man is living with those three cats, a toddler, and a baby, I doubt that he has much sanity left to lose.
