do you really want to go there Ramirez ? If one done does a brief analysis of affluent, stable democracies in the world, how many offer free (or affordable) quality healthcare to their citizens, and how many don’t ? Think before you draw, and pray that you never end up in a position where you need urgent medical care, but cannot afford it.
Even though this is a negative statement about the socialist government of Maduro being for a single payer system of healthcare, it does point out a flaw in our own system. Though they are one step away from anarchy and dissolution, they still have healthcare for all. Though Maduro panders to the poor and middle class with free healthcare, it wouldn’t hurt Dump and his Repub comrades to pander once in awhile.
Ramirez has to keep bringing up AOC. The right has to demonize her, and convince themselves that everyone that disagrees with them is just the same, and determined to destroy the country. They want everyone to forget that she is just one voice, and represents only one district, and not the majority of their opposition. That way they can avoids compromise (the extreme right’s real enemy) and keep the country in gridlock.
The conservative fixation one junior congressperson is fascinating. Either they want to promote her [which they are doing very well] or they are all horny as all get out.
AOC provides the perfect example regarding the difference between Democratic Socialism and the Nationalistic socialism of Maduro, yet Ramirez and other right-wing promoters of Trump-style Fascism are afraid to acknowledge that difference.
As a child in the USofA, I was raised with single payer health care with no co-pays and I don’t believe my parents even had to pay for prescriptions. It seemed to work, I am still here. Of course I was an Army Brat.
@onguard Are you ever going to grow up and figure out that the “Hillary is a criminal because of her email!” claim carries no weight outside your little cultist circle. The legal risk of an unsanctioned government email server is that it can be compromised by foreign actors.
Trump uses at least one, possibly two insecure phones that literally the Chinese could listen to, even when he isn’t using it for a call. I would point out that the Russians could too, but given Trump’s close relationship with Putin, I doubt they need to waste the effort. If Obama held off the record meetings with Vlad while negotiating deals that would personally enrich him — like Trump Moscow — you would be screaming not to impeach but to lynch the anti-American traitor.
Granted you may have just forgotten the sarcasm quotes, but if this reach for one of the lamest, stalest tropes was meant as a real rebuttal, you may need to take the MAGA hat off as it appears to be restricting the flow of blood to your brain.
Whining about a misdemeanor going unprosecuted while Trump piles up felonies is next level cognitive dissonance.
Illogical. There is no “medicare for all” in Venezuela, there is “no medicare for most”. And it’s not only ridiculous how Michael tries to repudiate medicare for all (which all western, central and northern European countries have) by pretending that it must be bad because an evil autocrat of a dysfunctional government is claiming they would have it. It’s the Chewbacca defense. The positive aspect is, that it again shows that adversaries of general medicare feel a lack of sensible arguments against it, so they try to defame it by anything, e.g. false associations.
Maduro would more closely align with Trump than Ocasio-Cortez. He is not a socialist. He is dictator. Surrounded by a cabinet just like Trumps, greedy, elitist swamp creatures.
Because AOC’s endorsements are the same as Maduro’s failed policies, right?
And, I repeat for the D-students on the right, Venesuela’s problem was not socialism, it was putting all their socialist eggs in the oil money basket. When prices dipped, there was no backup plan.
And if you think such things simply can’t happen in a capitalist society: I direct your attention to the city of Detroit.

Ramirez again showing off his Trump Disciple analysis skills.
.
A couple days ago, he could not discern any difference between the color of one’s skin and the color of one’s hat.
Today, he cannot tell any difference between despotism and social security.
.
Unless… unless… he’s LYING again? Would a Trump Disciple LIE?
.
I mean, Trump himself would NEVER lie. Would he?
Zev over 5 years ago
Stop lying, Ramirez. Even Trump lemmings know better than to believe that.

Since the Trump administration is opposing — i.e., refusing to accept as legitimate — Maduro, is Señor Ramirez suggesting that they love Alexandria?
