Seems like Luann is clinging to her comfort zone and trying to avoid becoming an adult.

Luann College is a new world and many more men you can pick from.

The Luann Gunther arc was better than this is panning out…

Luann clearly is not an adventurous type. She embraces familiarity and shies away from new things. She tried Tara’s way but it did not click with her. She’s the old stuck-in-the-mud type which is why she is friends with Bernice and Gunther. But Gunther is now branching out – daring to stay with the dating app and took a picture of himself in the yucky nerdy Jean Luc Picard sleepwear. Bernice fell for Piro but never did anything about it. She was afraid – and suspicious. Will it take Tara to pull her out of the mud? I hope not because I think Tara is not a trustworthy person. I am hoping it will be Pru.

And a girl was nude in the art class as well. Hint – It wasn’t Luann.

Tara says to Luann, “You don’t date ANYONE.” We haven’t seen Tara date somebody yet. Of course at that party after the truck races, Tara disappeared and some guy probably got lucky.

Why is everybody that Luann knows fixated on her love life or lack thereof? As far as I can tell none of them are dating. In any case it’s really none of their business.

Why are you pressuring her to date? Enjoy college, enjoy the freedom of being single. Don’t waste your time and energy on something you don’t want right now.

Women really dig a guy who spends 7 hours meticulously paste waxing his car.

Get kicked out of class for pouring like that.

If a guy spoke like Tara did, he’d be compared to Steve Dallas a couple of strips down from here…

Luann doesn’t want to date Jack because she already saw him naked when he modeled?

I had other classes with a woman who was also nude model for my life drawing class. We used to make jokes about it in classes that had students that didn’t know her. She was cool and, honestly, pretty cute.

It seems to me that Prof. Zebo invited Luann to the art class of which we speak, as a guest. She really did not attend it on a regular basis and Jack just hung out there to make a few extra bucks.

Tara is doing her part to try to nudge Luann from her shyness, and basically risk adverse nature when it comes down to dating. Bravo! Bringing up their glancing at and commenting on Mr. Hunk teases so many possibilities. He is new, and she knows him, in fact they have gone on a couple non-date meetings away from school. We already have been introduced to how much of a gentleman he is, and how determined to do well in school (which by the way is not unusual), but they are just “college” friends. I still give better than even odds that the plan eventually is to get to the next step. Remember GnK a lot of your fans are getting on in age!

I guess I’m just a romantic—I’m still hoping she ends up with Quill someday!

If jack is supposed to be in the running for a love interest, why aren’t they together more often? Geez…maybe they’d decide to “go steady” for their 50th birthdays!

College wins every time!

He either spoiled other men for her, or swore her off men altogether…

It sounds like there’s some policy at Luann’s college that one can’t date teachers (or TA’s). While I think that’s a good idea I wonder how common a rule that is in institutions of higher learning. I knew of a fair number of women who were dating profs at various universities.

“Why doesn’t Luann date anyone?” Gee that’s a toughie, Ms Busybody, Uh I MEAN, “Ms. Starr.” Maybe it’s because:

1) No guy has asked her out on a date lately, INCLUDING that big lovable jock haphazardly pouring dangerous chemicals into a beaker.

2) Luann has a tendency to “Friend-Zone” EVERY single guy she comes in contact with who’s NOT GQ Gorgeous. Ergo Gunther. Ergo, Jack. Ergo Elwood. Ergo Howie now, perhaps.

3) Luann (IMHO) is still looking for an “Aaron Hill.” A “Pretty-Boy.” A “Prince Charming,” to get “romantic” with and not a guy to pal around and have FUN with. She’s Never stopped. She found one in Q-Ball, but that didn’t quite “work” out. The fact that she rejects Howie out of hand (Not even knowing if he’s truly interested I Her) is telling. It’s up to Luann of course (And Greg And Karen). But she might wanna consider giving an “Average looking Joe” a chance.

So what’s Lu’s next move? Give “Dating App Doug” a Shot? Ask Jack out? H3LL for that matter, why not ask Gunther out? At least Luann KNOWS Gunny is a great kisser.

One more thing. Tara. Luann should not be taking ANY “advice” from someone who keeps getting “Caught.”

I’ll now pour a third cup of COFFEE. And wait for the backlash. :)

I can’t remember his name, but I wonder whatever happened to that strange little guy (who seemed to be a millionaire) that used to go after Luann. He was the one who made the movie that Tiffany starred in Eyes of Zyes.

Some good points – however I wouldn’t expect Luann to give just any guy a chance. Certainly Luann could start with somebody that is not a nerdy creep like Howie (Gunther is nerdy but not a creep).

So, a T.A. can’t date other students, Luann has refused the job and Jack is with her in this class. Luann still think about Jack body and look at him, while he is doing experiments in the lab clothes with a satisfated face and seems more than ever a good student and a handsome boy… I wonder it there any connection.

Luann does things with Jack; why does it have to be called a ‘date’? Once a meet-up is viewed as a date, the pressure is on and all the fun is gone. i predict that tomorrow Luann will tell Tara about ‘date-pic’, the profile she put up and the responses she has received.

Yeah Tara, Luann doesn’t really date guys, per se. At least it’s not her usual thing. Her normal thing is to hopelessly pine after them from a distance, while pretending to be their Good Friend to their face and doing a terrible job of hiding her obsession. Now she never takes the plunge and asks them out, because that’d be too simple. No, she instead tries to coax them into falling in love with her by showing that only she truly understands them, and unlike that shallow tramp Tiffany, she sees who they are on the inside. (the fact that she just happens to be just as attracted to these guys appearance as the supposedly shallow Tiffany, and they always fall for the exact same guys, and her evidence of “seeing someone’s inside” is always the same surface-level nonsense “insight” used by every freshman art school student trying to get laid, never gets brought up. Luann’s not shallow because she’s the protagonist, so shut up!)

Anyway, Luann doesn’t date people because she’s too busy being utterly obsessed with them, latching onto them like a lovesick puppy, and then going home to whine to either her diary or Bernice about how they always go after Tiffany instead (even though no guy in the strip has EVER actually sealed the deal with Tiffany instead of her.)

Of course, if by some miracle there DOES end up being dating involved, it’s hardly something to write home about. A few chaste kisses and the promise of never ever going to second base, and in return she demands that you put your goals on hold so she can drag you around all the time as her Nice Girl Trophy and hopefully make Tiffany seethe with jealousy. If you’re lucky you may get some alone time with her in a deserted room, but she’ll decide the best use of that time is playing dress-up like a couple of toddlers. Your function is to make her look and feel validated, not be a member of a couple both working together towards shared emotional/physical connections.

Let’s see …Luann is complaining that she has to make an effort to get to know guys as well as then see about dating them? wow.

And Now, the Nude Guy would like Luann to return the favor and “Model” for him.

And avoided to pine after Aaron Hill.

This makes the dating app a reasonable plot development. Now, instead of having to get to know guys and then go on dates with them, Luann can just go out on dates with guys she doesn’t know at all.

Yup!

Listen to Tara, Lulu. It’s time for you to do some maturing in your outlook on life….

What we need here is another nude guy. How about Nils? He’s an art major, did the seminude class project, may be tempted to follow in Jack and Tara’s bare buƒƒs.
