If the gag here really is bass fishing, which seems really lame, then the fishing is all wrong. You cannot catch bass with a hook and bobber.

It’s a bass guitar that he’s holding therefore I thing he’s bass fishing (i.e. largemouth, smallmouth bass)

The player looks like a mashup of Leon Russell and Bootsy Collins. Both wore top hats with stars but Bootsy’s were more over the top. That said Bootsy is a black bass player and Leon is a white pianist.
