Wish I had taken my Mom’s percolator when she passed. Then again, I would have no idea how to use it. Also, I remember not loving the coffee, but maybe it was because I wasn’t such a big coffee connoisseur back then.
I find that some percolators do a better job of making coffee. They re-pass the liquid through the grounds to make a strong cup of joe. Though some percolators do a better job than others. My last one only did a so-so job so I now use my drip coffee maker which is better. Plus, the filter basket of the percolator is for coarse ground coffee and cheaper coffee, my choice, is fine ground. So, I would use a 4 cup filter in the basket.
“Everyone must be backward who doesn’t do everything exactly as I do,” might be an allegorical description of imperialism, racism, caste structure, culture clash,or other un-zenlike attitudes.
My old 1940’s stove top percolator is tops on a cold morning….Put in a bit too much water and by the time it perks off to be just right, the kitchen has a warm aroma of great coffee, and you can snuggle up to your “Cupp’a Joe”
It’s the one Mom used, which makes It all that much better….
You are now ready to shuffle off and face the day….

Your mistake was talking before Pam had her first cup of coffee.
She’ll totally go all Irritable Belle on you.

Don’t get the allure a French Press has over a plain old drip coffeemaker. Makes weak coffee IMO.

I guess I’m whatever was before Neanderthals. I just drank instant, but with the right amounts of this and that, I could make it taste pretty good.

Pam had too much coffee? Pam had too little coffee? Pam had just the right amount of coffee? This is just normal for Pam?

My favorite type of coffee maker has always been the old fashioned Steam & Vacuum coffee maker that looks like a coffee pot on top of another pot.
