Susie squealed to save herself even though she is part of the problem. There will be no pardon for you Calvin. Grit you teeth, take the punishment and know that this too will pass.
When the “Miss Wormwood blaming Susie” aspect of this story arc began on Friday, I noted that Miss Wormwood knows Susie sometimes provokes Calvin and wrongly assumed that she was doing so this time. The Principal is far less familiar with Susie than he is with Calvin so Calvin doesn’t have that advantage here.
“He pulled out a file as thick as the London telephone directory and dropped it on his desk. It landed with a thud. ‘In 1955, who drove a flock of sheep through the graduation ceremonies?’ " ( Animal House, novelized version)
The Omerta Code didn’t go far in elementary school. And, technically, Miss Derkins IS guilty. She WAS talking in class and was writing notes. Two wrongs…
Um, Didn’t this all develop from Calvin not having his homework done…i.e., the bug project? Wasn’t he trying to mooch her bugs? How does it follow that Susie is in the principal’s office and he has had no consequences at all?

Yes, Calvin, Susie is ratting you out. She’s singing like a canary. You should have known you couldn’t trust her.
