I seem to recall that someone said that Lucy became a mentor of sorts to Rerun. I’m wondering if she just gave in to the inevitable.

Odd thing about the new edition to the Van Pelt brood, we never knew his real name. “Rerun” was just a nickname the kids used. For a long time the name was in quotation marks.

Would love to have seen mom’s face as she heard Lucy’s reaction!

I don’t remember this story arc at all. I never knew that Linus/Lucy had a brother. I don’t think I ever saw him in a comic strip.

When my wife was pregnant with our second child she asked my eldest son who was three at the time, “Do you want a baby brother, or baby sister?” He replied, “puppy.” Sorry kid, that’s not a option.

After we brought his brother home from the hospital he asked, “Can we take him back; he’s noisy.”

It’s been 47 years but I can still remember reading this strip the first time around in 1972.

And thus Rerun comes to the reruns.

at least the story arc finally explains how Lucy got away with banning Linus from the house. Except…The left Lucy alone in charge of the house?

This strip came out a few weeks after I sent Schulz a letter suggesting he add a new character to the strip.

I think that it wasn’t long after this that Linus’ blanket went sentient – and rogue – and started attacking Lucy…
