Who knew Tommy was the kind of cat who hangs his clothes on hangers when he changes outfits. Nice to see that once he’s at home he loses the bow ties:)
Sophie, I’m with you girl. I’ve been lost through this whole wrestling arc.
Hi there, Orbsters! I’ve been reading BCN ever since my Man aka Andylit began to follow Georgia’s strip. He’s been having so much fun updating you on our castle pride, that I had to come and say hello. I rather enjoyed the match, even if the ending was a surprise. Then again, I should have known that any kitty who caught the red dot, would do well. Have a good Monday everyone!
I’m with Sophie – and Sue Ellen! Totally confused (but pleased that everyone else seemed to have so much fun with it). Wrestling is not my area. What’cha reading, Sophie? Any recommendations?
Good to see Sophie and Tommy at home and (supposedly) off-camera! I like the contrast between Sophie’s stripes and Tommy’s outfit: do you think that might be part of why he likes the bee outfit? Like a tribute to her.
I could use some Orb power. I have a colonoscopy later today (I still have to drink a liter of that goop) and then a root canal on Wednesday morning. I’ve been dreading the approach of this week…..
I’m with Miss Sophie—I would infinitely prefer a book to watching a sports event. Ever the nerdy one. ((((((((((((((((Lots of healing purrs and orb boops going out to our dear Orbster jimmjonzz))))))))))))))))) Hope today is a better day for you, sweetie. I’ve been there at rock bottom in my life. It’s hard to see it now, but you only have up to go from there. Please don’t let dispair swallow you up. Xx
Human sport is really boring and pointless. I really cannot understand why grown men get so excited about watching a bunch of other men knock a ball around. (I will watch women’s figure skating, and women’s beach volleyball, though.)
As I have said before, Sophie is my spirit animal. I would much prefer to stroll thru a gallery, listen to a concert or read a book to watching any sports event. Playing a sport you enjoy is different tho. But al least she is conversing with friendly, adorable Tommy instead of giving him a cold shoulder. And look at him bounce! Tommy is always so enthusuastic.
It takes all kinds of Cats to make a world. Some are wrestling fans and other purrrfer a good book and a little classical music on in the background. The key is to not make anyone feel less cat than thou for their choices.
I love Sophie’s absentminded “hmm”. Paul was complaining yesterday that it seemed to be the only word in my vocabulary, but what is one to say when one is counting stitches? Tommy is still riding on a high from the match.
As for the previous comment, I dozed off and Yum Yum decided to add her two cents’ worth.
A tidbit from this morning’s paper—evidently rasslin’ as we know it goes back a long time. “A scientist reading fragments of Egyptian papyri from the year 267 found a written contract that called for Demetrius to take a fall three times in a wrestling match against fellow teenager Nicantinous in exchange for a 3,800-drachma payoff, according to Archaeology.org.”
Best wishes this week. Good that you are taking care of yourself. Anticipation is worse than the actual event. Congratulations on having a colonoscopy today. They truly are life savers. As my doctor said when I was being wheeled in – the worse is over and will see you in another five years. Hope the same can be said for you.Root canals are what they used to be. Very easy. Easier than a filling.
I am overwhelmed and astonished at the outpouring of morale support for jimmjonzz (and others). You folks are more than human. (I know, almost “damning with faint praise.”) I am proud and grateful to be among you. I have never encountered such an example of “like-minded sincerity and considerateness.”
Jimmjonzz, please tell us, if you can manage, what’s the matter. All of us want to at least try to help. Many of us “own real estate in hell.” We sympathize, and want to give you encouragement and whatever help we can.
I know that quite often I feel like I am all alone in how I feel. I am definitely not an extrovert and do not enjoy being around a lot of other people. Except of course for everyone here. I find it very wearying to have to be in public for more than a very short time. It limits me in the kinds of employment I can handle. I do not consider myself a total recluse but I need to be alone for most of my time.
I dont get to comment too often as I have a busy life, full time job, full time dad of two small ones, and a husband to a marvelous woman who allows me to share house duties and care of two toddlers, then there is moms bassett and siamese and our two rescues – one of each dog and cat, and a spring garden going in, and you get the gist! But I wanted to add my boops and purrs, and let every one of you know how special you are. I truly appreciate this group of caring people.Magpie, the colonoscopy was Moms most dreaded ordeal, but she said if you get past the drinking of that " utterly vile concoction" (her words) its downhill from there. I wish you ease today and a pain free root canal! May the catnip (anesthesia) be plentiful.
Magpie, you are probably asleep right now if you did what I did after my colonoscopy. First thing I did was to go to a restaurant and eat breakfast (in spite of the wicked med folk telling me to go eat something bland), and the next thing I did was sleep the rest of the day, since I’d been up all night drinking that vile crap and uh. . .dealing with the drinking of it. When you get yourself back together, please check in and tell us how you are. Hugs and good wishes.
Off Topic: As you know, our Midnite had ear surgery today to remove a mass. Surgery was successful, but she is a bit wifty due to the anesthesia. Now she has a cone. Trouble walking in narrow places and eating (hasn’t eaten or drank yet due to cone). Bumps into everything (maybe a normal post-surgical result). We’re trying to figure out how to allow those functions. Vet is closed. Any Ideas?
Thank you all so much for all the positive vibes, hugs, boops, purrs and puns (good and bad). I know the prep is the worst part of a colonoscopy; I wrote my post halfway through it. Good thing I did the procedure – 7 polyps; bad thing ahead- another one again in 3 years. Best thing – all your lovely messages of support.
All my root canals (at least 4, I’ve lost count) have been extremely painful and gotten infected, and this one is on a wisdom tooth. If you think of me again on Wed. I’ll be grateful again.

Clearly Sophie is too sophisticated for that! She has more important things to do. Probably things like People wrestling. That’s much better.

I am still upright and conscious. I’m not sure those are good things.
I’m more convinced than ever that I don’t belong among people.I’ll try to clear up any mystery about my choice, which is to withdraw.
If I manage to clarify my thoughts enough to be coherent, that will be that.
I am not unmindful that some folks here are kindly inclined. That’s to your credit.
