Considering that many early photogs traveled and worked in closed horse-drawn wagons, it’s a wonder so many plates survived. Also that so many photogs themselves survived after being in such close contact with the chemicals needed to set the images. It’s the surest definition of perseverance and dedication to a cause. Thanks to every one of them for ‘saving history’ for those who followed.
The local newspaper seems to have forgotten what the term “breaking” means with respect to news. If at 9 PM it publishes “5 people shot in local bar at 8 PM”, that qualifies. “Study committee formed in 2017 releases preliminary report on grass-growing strategy for city parks” does not.
