In our household decaf is referred to as “why bother”. I only drink coffee in the am; any after noon and I am wide awake all night so it’s herbal teas in the evening.

My former pastor back in Colorado was a Starbucks aficionado with an Adrian Monk-level case of OCD. His favorite Starbucks hired a barista who could never get his order right. For a month or so, the words “venti non-fat no-water soy chai” found its way into his sermons on a regular basis.

I needed this burst of unbridled joy today!

I want to see The Woman, next time she dusts, asking “Why is there cat fur on the ceiling light?”

I secretly give myself decaf for the same reason

I like cinnamon in my coffee, too.

Brein43 update

Good morning, dear friends. I had my half way done with chemo checkup last week, and the news was mixed. It looks like the chemo has not been working as well as we hoped. There has been some significant regrowth in the old neighborhood, my abdomen. The cancer has started to take over some of the real estate vacated by the January surgery.

Now, on the plus side, in February there looked to be some shifty eyed cells in the upper body, up to no good and trying to establish an outpost on the left chest wall. No evidence of that now, so either it was never there or the chemo took care of it.

No known organ involvement anywhere, lungs, heart, liver, and remaining organs all clean, per the CT scan.

So, mixed bag but we have a plan B. I am switching over to a more aggressive chemo regimen with a harsher pair of drugs. I am also going to every other week, instead of every third week. Yay- more perforations, but if it works I can deal.

Thanks to all for your ongoing purrs and good wishes. I am intent on beating this into submission.

I just looked at the original version of this, and I can now comment (I’ve been holding back!) on how wonderfully Georgia has captured a kitten’s frenetic energy!

I’ll take a white tea with mint, honey, sugar-free caramel machiato, 3 squirts of Splenda, and leave the teabag in the cup please. The stronger it gets, the better it is.

@shaunnmunn You asked about my kids. I have 4, all grown. The oldest boy is Jon-Lee, then Jeff who is married to Jessica. The girls are Jora and Jerika (rhymes with America.) Jon-Lee and Jora live with me and are both autistic though very high functioning. Jon-Lee is also a genius and actually enjoys doing taxes. Well, I suppose someone has to and at least it’s not me.
