I believe my favorite books growing up were the Berenstein bears (by Stan & Jan Berenstein), Little Critter (Mercer Mayer), and Clifford the big, red dog (Norman Birdwell).

A historical reference from the ancient past. (Google on “You’re no Jack Kennedy”.)

She had no problem coming up with the Library Turtle story so why the writer’s block now?

I loved Louisa May Alcott. I don’t know how many times I’ve had to replace Little Women… and I still re-read it and hope that Beth doesn’t die :( Silly, I know..

Heart is in middle school. She should be reading juvenile and curated adult fiction, not picture books. Mark T. needs to talk to some librarians.

Well, mom, Nancy was in grade 11 (?) so yes, Heat’s not there yet…but she’ll catch up, I’m sure.

When I was a kid, Nancy Drew was supposed to be a “girl’s book”, but I enjoyed them anyways. I thought them better than the Hardy Boys. But all time favorites? Bradbury and Asimov. Particularly Bradbury’s Martian Chronicles and Asimov’s robot stories.

Nancy Drew was kind of sappy but the adults were idiots.

I read an old book of “Tom Swift Jr.” called “Tom Swift and the Asteroid Pirates”. That book got me interested in Science.

I didn’t read Nancy Drew. I don’t know Nancy Drew. But I still know Heart’s no Nancy Drew.
