Ever notice how nobody in the movies ever talks about movies they’ve seen or going to the movies or classic movies? It’s as if, in the movies, movies don’t exist. Fortunately, here in the comic strips, other comic strips exist, and yay for that!
True. Job security does not necessarily include happiness with one’s entire life. Having an income that supports one’s family and lifestyle can be just the opening step.
I have two strips on my favourites’ bar, Frazz and Dilbert. When I was working, some Dilbert strips were so representative of our work experiences, that we printed them and stuck them on our lunchroom bulletin board. Good laugh and therapy to help deal with workplace problems.
There does seem to be a preoccupation with job/life dissatisfaction in comics, still I enjoy the Frazzes, Snoopys, and Hammys who are positive about their lives. It makes them less … fictional.Thank you.

“Take no risks, assume no responsibility.” Sounds like the recipe for a civil service job.

I think Pointy Haired Boss, and also Bald CEO both enjoy their jobs.

They’re every bit as real as you are Frazz, except they don’t exercise as much.

They’d be unhappier without their jobs.

Wait! WHAT? What fictional characters? They can talk about it; but we can’t??

I wonder if Dilbert is going to give Frazz a cross-over payback.

If you settle for mediocrity in the performance of your duties you will never find satisfaction in the necessary evil that work is for all of us.

Kid, don’t splay your fingers. It drives home how badly Jef draws hands.

back to the punchline. Humor is funny if we can relate to it. If we relate to the humor in Dilbert, what does that say about our lives?

230305su. ADIOS Dilbert. Dead and buried. He committed suicide. And not missed.
